GEOMETRIC ABSTRACT LANDSCAPE WATERCOLOURS
Dr Kathryn Blumke
ARTIST, POET, SCHOLAR — MEANJIN
Kathryn is a visual artist, poet and scholar based in Meanjin/Brisbane. Her watercolour practice centres on geometric abstract quilts — paintings that thread encounters with the Australian landscape into structured fields of colour, geometry and line.
Drawing on Rosi Braidotti’s posthuman feminism, her work has been shown in more than twenty solo exhibitions across Australia and is held in public and corporate collections in Queensland. Her latest solo, Swamp Quilts, runs at Brunswick Street Gallery, Melbourne, until 24 May.
